Bach Invention No. 1 and No. 13
on: July 25, 2012, 07:44:30 PM
As I stated in an earlier video, I was enjoying a dose of Scarlatti at every practice... and then for some reason I wanted to start looking at the inventions again.

I lacked basic skills in playing piano due to the cramming I did for college so I figured, I'll work on that by practicing these Scarlatti Sonatas and Bach inventions... and they're difficult!!

They were recorded on two different pianos in the same room.  The C Major invention was recorded on a pretty old Steinwey.

The A minor invention was recorded on a 9 foot Yamaha donated to our school by some guy, which was the covered piano in the first video... if you can see it.

Please feel free to comment and leave suggestions!  I always enjoy critique as it equals learning!

Thanks!!

Pretty good performance I thought -you have good independance of hands and nice articulation -you might refine the dynamics a bit -I always think that Bach needs to have such a clear contrast between loud and soft -also you could explore playing more staccato vs legato -but all in all pretty decent.
When a search is in progress, something will be found.
