My first serious attempt to write a sonata!

First of all. Is this a Sonata? I thought it could be.. But im not sure about the exact criterias.

What do you think about it? Some feedback would be great =)

Welll in the original sense of the term sonata, yes, it is a sonata, in that it's just an "instrumental" piece versus a vocal piece   ::)

Very Jean Michael Jarre-esque this piece- It isn't really in Sonata Form at all - You would need a set of two contrasting ideas or groups of ideas in the first section -usually with a key change -also there is normally a bridge section or transition which links these idea groups-Crucially in Sonata Form the ideas are then developed -again away from the tonic key -When the tonic returns it is meant to be the climax of the piece -This is known as the Recapitulation, where the ideas are restated- both predominantly in the home key of the Sonata -The following article should help clarify. Charles Rosen wrote some great books explaining musical form.

Nothing really preventing you from calling your piece a Sonata though -
