New piece to learn
on: September 01, 2012, 05:51:17 PM
Hey guys,
I've been practising the piano for a few months and play almost everyday. Now, I don't have any tutor yet so I'm pretty much on my own but my sightreading is quite decent and my overall understanding of the piano is.. uhm satisfying I guess. I've learned some, I guess intermediate pieces such as the Game of Thrones theme song, Turkish Marsch, Comptine d'un autre été, first movement of Moonlight Sonata (not that I can play it perfectly but at least fairly good I'd say) and some other stuff. Now I want suggestions for something challenging, preferably classical piece, that would suit me well.

Thank you in advance!

Take a look at Beethoven's Sonata op. 49 no. 2. It seems like it may be a good level for you now, but possibly a little challenging. Also take a look at some of Chopin's easier Mazurkas, Bach's Inventions, and Clementi's Sonatinas.

Thanks a lot guys, I'll make sure to have a look at each piece. I haven't listened to Chopin's Mazurkas, it would be one that you find suitable. I'll try to pick a piece and learn it and then record myself playing it so that you  can give me some more advice. Anyway, thanks a lot, you're awesome!

Alright, I've chosen to learn K.545 (Sonata 16), I will post a video when I've learned the first page!
