What is a chord?

Hi.I know one chord so far which is C Chord.You will have to press C,E and G at the same time.But how many more chords are there?Can someone please tell me.

A chord is defined as 3 or more notes played together. There are dozens of different chords and even more if you use atonal scales.

I noticed that only one person answered your post. What you are asking is a very elementary question, but like anything in life, there are no stupid questions, only people. So what is it that you would like to know, where are you in learning to play the piano, and what type of music are you looking to play?
