Actually I have this unfortunate stomach condition that gets really irritated with alcohol...so I can only drink every now and then :(

Alcohol also has this strange effect on me: No matter how little I drink, the next day or two my memory does not work. I forget names, everyday things and piano keys .... So never drink on weekends, since Monday is piano lesson...

Alcohol is the absolute worst thing for piano playing. The very first thing to be affected is small motor skills, even before you are buzzed or drunk, your fingers are already impaired. That being said, names can be forgotten and keys can be forgotten even without alcohol.  So you dont really even need to drink to forget those things.

That is unfortunately very true :(

But for me the brain just gets even worse after drinking. My forgetfullness is at least doubled from it's normal state. I've done enough empirical studying over the years to make this statement with certainty.

I absolutely agree here! It kills brain cells, so I do not touch the stuff. I do not want to lose any memory or ability to use as much of my brain as possible.

Worst of all, when it's coupled with loud music, clubs etc. Effectively destroying everything you need to make music at once! And you're paying for it too.. what a deal.

Long term consumption of low doses of alcohol has been shown to be neuroprotective, decreasing risk of strokes and poor oxygen supply to the brain.

Alcohol is generally accepted as a J-curve, where high consumption is worse than abstinence which is worse than low consumption.

I bit into my mother's cake the other day and got a mouth full of Grand Marnier. Ya think that counts?

I've decided to wear a little jacket over my hoodies to keep me warm.

But my hands are still *** cold!

It helped, but not completely.

Now I can warm up for an hour and my hands won't actually be cold anymore.

That's your allowance for the year!

Just walk around with your hands down your pants.  I'm sure no one will notice.

I have also cold hands, but I've discovered that my hands feel much warmer if I keep my feet really warm. Maybe it sounds strange, but it works for me.

use those warm bead packets called "hothands". primarily used for camping or winter sports.

your whole body should warm up if you jump around a little bit and get your blood moving around.
or maybe just pretend that they're not cold.
