solve this, byach.  :'(

actually I have been working on just those couple of bars on and off for an hour now, idk why this part is so hard for me. Probably because it is hard to hear the separate hands independently when I am going so slow! :( It's such a struggle coordinating many things at once sometimes.

That's my favourite part of Ondine! So beautiful, yet so difficult...

I like the part right after that bar and the next one, where it has that beautiful sad melody, but Argerich does not play that part with emotional emphasis. I have heard other pianists play that part well, though. It is such a joy to feel it.

I also like the part a couple of lines later where there is the progression of chords in the right hand over the glissando in the left. That part is also very nice. Thibaudet plays Ondine very well, as does Pogorelich.

I can agree with that, what about Ashkenazy?

listz practiced for 10hours a day. You need about 10,000hours of focused, correct and quality practice to be a master.

saying you practice 30mins of quality practice a day and justify it by saying it equates to 26hrs of practice is most silly unless your content to be mediocre  :-X There is no such thing as a concert pianist who practices for 30mins a day  ::) even the most talented pianist cannot pull this off without putting in the hours of hard work and sacrifices.

If your practicing your mistakes or just 'playing' your music, I doubt anyone would call that practice to begin with.

I've never heard Ashkenazy play Ondine. I might want to look at that...

I do nothing but Hanon all day every day because it is obviously the unsung masterpiece of piano literature.

I'd think that would get incredibly boring. Maybe you should throw in a few Scarlatti sonatas or something. They're really good for training your hands.

Now that I think about it, I would assume so. I'm really bad at recognizing sarcasm.

And then will the skateboarding move, basketball shot or lap in the pool benefit them when they're 70 like your piano will?

Indeed, extra laps in the pool will. Exercise is very important for overall health. Improving flexibility, stamina, decrease risk of multiple diseases. And very possible helping maintain cognitive function to make all those hours at the piano even more successful.

I tend to practice in spurts of an hour or two here or there...and the total varies from day to day. Maybe 6 hours. I have a lot of repertoire. :)
