Seiler and other high end pianos

I have an opportunity to market Seiler pianos catering to affluent home owners. As I gather, Seiler is a worthy, but affordable option to those considering products from Steinway, Bosendorfer and Fazioli. I would be interested to hear opinions from pianists who have played 5ft to 7ft Seilers and others of comparable quality. Thank you.

I got a 206 cm Seiler grand about ten years ago. It sounds superb.

Thank you, Dam.  I am particularly interested in how players feel about the Seiler as compared to other high end brands the have played, as my experience here is limited. Are they in the same league?

I can tell you that the sound is generous, homogeneous with very good low register. However, the medium-high register is quite harsh.
Mechanism is very pleasant and robuste too. Never had any problem with it.

Sorry, I can only compare with Bösendorfer but the price is not the same. And the sound is tremendous.

I love my Seiler because of its musicality. With it you can create a real deep sound (of german tradition).

I played Seilers when I was shopping for my 7' grand - so I only compared similar sizes - can't remember specific models.  They were quite nice, although the action was SO light it was actually irritating.  Most serious pianists don't like them because of that alone.  In every other respect, however, they were great - action was even, sound was even, European sound (which I prefer, but some folks don't), and beautifully finished cabinetry.  They might be compared to Schimmels, although Schimmels are more "mass produced" than the Seilers.  In general I liked them, although you might have a tough time getting the really serious pianists to pick one over a good used Bosie, Steinway, Faz, etc.

As I understand, there are only a couple of dealers in all of Canada for Seilers. The one in Western Canada is Toew's Music in Abbotsford, near Vancouver.

Do a web search.  The North American representative for Seiler lives on Ontario Canada.  That person could tell you about dealers.
