Suggestions for new pieces to learn?

I have completed the first movement of the Moonlight Sonata, and this was a big project for me that stretched me. It took me about 3 weeks of learning everyday to memorise the notes and performance-wise it still isn't perfect and I'm currently ironing out the mistakes(Probably one more week until there are no mistakes).

I would like a new project to work on alongside this, but preferably around the same difficulty or less as Moonlight Sonata as I don't think I will be able to handle more technically advanced pieces.

How about learning the second movement? :p

It's challenging in a different way and quite beautiful in its own right. It's also quite short so I don't see why not.

When you eventually have the technical facility for the third movement, you will have the distinct advantage of having already learned the first two.

I've thought about this, but I think I need a a different piece, and then maybe I'll come back to the 2nd movement later. Any other pieces? I'd love to playing something by Alkan, Debussy, Liszt or Chopin. I'm already working on a Chopin prelude but it is quite short and I'll have finished it within a week I think.

That Mozart K545 is a pretty piece and it's fun to do. It does add Mozart to ones repertoire as well ! When I learned it I wish I realized I was learning something of importance, I just took as a piece of music my teacher gave to me to do. But it can be a nice sounding stepping stone to bigger and better things as well, which I found out later as we moved on to bigger and better things . It's something the OP probably can do to completion.

Try looking into some short pieces by Grieg then. Stuff like the Poetic Tone Pictures come to mind.

Grieg's shorter works don't ask too much of you technically, are much more compact, and a joy to play. Definitely a good choice after a long, arduous project like a Sonata movement.

If you are looking for a challenging piece, here is a good one that I am learning currently.

Arabesque No. 1 by Claude Debussy

It's a beautiful piece, composed in the Impressionist era. Also, Arabesque No. 2 is a nice one as well.
