1. Ballade.
2. Scherzo.
3. Scherzo.
4. Ballade.

Nearly two years later:

1. Ballade.
2. Ballade.
3. Scherzo.
4. Tie.

Of course, I'm talking about how much I enjoy them. I've pretty much given up rating pieces as far as quality, as I have found there are too many factors that go into it, and also realize my opinion on such things doesn't really mean much.

Comparisons like these just DON'T work with music.

But
1) ballade
2) ballade, marginally
3) ballade, marginally
4) tie, I love the ballade, and I've played the scherzo before

How could you dislike the fourth ballade?  Shocked  its chopin at the height of his compositional abilities.

Hmm no the Op.60 and Op.61 pieces are.

I go for:

1. Scherzo
2. Scherzo
3. Ballade
4. Ballade
5. Scherzo from Op.12 Variations
6. Scherzo Vivace from Op.12 Variations.
6. Scherzo from Op.35 Sonata
7. Scherzo from Op.58 Sonata

My way of saying that Chopin composed more than 4 scherzi Smiley

1. Ballade. I like both but but the ballade is my favorite piece ever.
2. Tie. Can't pick one to save my life. (Well, not really...)  Grin
3. Ballade by a long shot.
4. Scherzo. But I really like them both. I like in the scherzo the section with the trills and double trills.
