I might have a piano under the Christmas tree!!
on: December 03, 2012, 02:03:02 PM
So, I've been learning to read music and started playing songs on a borrowed keyboard for the past two months. I have been really wanting to learn how to play the piano, ever since I seriously got into classical a year and a half ago. My husband and I discussed getting a piano in the next year or so.

Well, it looks like instead there might be one under my Christmas tree this year! I am so excited. He wanted to surprise me and just buy it and have it delivered while I was at work one day, but that wasn't entirely feasible as 1)he wanted to have me try some out first, and 2) with the way we have our finances, I'd know anyway. We're not 100% certain yet, but it's looking good.

I think we'll be getting a Knabe..I believe the model # was WV118H but I'm not sure. It's console sized and will fit perfectly in our living room. It has a ten year warranty which is great. The dealer actually has a trade-up policy; if you want an upgrade, you get full value of the current piano towards to purchase of the new one. The middle peddle is a practice pedal, so it will be quiet enough for me to practice at night. (critical since I have two small children and that will be the best time for me to practice. I'll keep this updated!

The heck with piano, I want to see this tree it fits under !!!

Seriously, Congrats hope it works out!
Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.
