A serious pianist asking a question about the RNCM
on: December 03, 2012, 06:31:15 PM
I am a serious pianist working towards a career as a concert pianist. I am thinking about going to the RNCM, but I keep hearing mixed reviews and I am not sure what to make out of this. Especially when someone says 'you don't go to the RNCM to be a concert pianist', which is the weirdest thing I have heard since there are concert pianists at the RNCM. Some of the finest pianists I have ever heard. I know the top places are in London. RAM, RCM, Guildhall, Trinity. Someone also said it is mainly a strings conservatoire. Am I missing something here? Lots of confused and mixed messages. Please, someone, enlighten me!

are sure they aren't comments made by people who weren't accepted there? happens a lot.. lol     Your career will be based on your ability to perform--and some luck.   Research the instructors...personally--they are going to make the difference--wouldn't you agree?  nobody agrees on what the "best" school is do they?   in fact, on this site--there is very little that people agree on...

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU--I hear limeys make good pianists.  :o
