Yamaha Hybrid Pianos
on: December 03, 2012, 10:50:41 PM
Does anyone have any experience with the Yamaha Silent System?  What are the current models and how would they compare with an adapted system -say for a reconditioned U3??

When a search is in progress, something will be found.

I have a factory installed silet system in my U1. Has pros and cons.

I think Yamaha has the silent option for most if not all of their acoustic models. But the hybrid piano is a different thing, it's a digital piano with an acoustic hammer system. It is supposed to feel exactly like an acoustic, but there is no acoustic sound option.

Kawai has it's own system, the anytime-system, which I think is pretty similar to the Yamaha silent system.

You can restrofit similar system to any piano I guess. Wouldn't do it for a quality grand though, because I think it will affect the touch...
