Mozart : The complete Piano Sonatas

Hi,

I would like to purchase the complete Piano Sonatas of Mozart. I have been given the names of 3 artists who have recorded these:
1. Maria João Pires
2. Mitsuko Uchida
3. Bart Van Oort
Can anyone recommend which recording artist I should buy? I really want it in the true classical style.

Andras Schiff has also recorded the complete Piano Sonatas of Mozart.
His intepretation is so elegant! He plays Mozart with style and grace.

i own the uchida complete mozart set, have been unbelievably happy with them for years. incredible 'replay' value, i do not tire of the recordings (it is my preferred 'quiz' music that i listen to when i take online exams/quizes for classes).

i have not felt the need to seek out any other complete set. 

my advice, check different sets out from a library and listen to them, and just get the one you like best.

Another thumbs up for Uchida. Though I haven't listened to any Schiff Mozart, from his other recordings I would sure his Mozart would be wonderful.

Can you still get the Uchida ones? They were recorded for Philips!

I have the whole set by Friedrich Gulda. Check him out, I think he's great.

Be aware that Maria João Pires has recorded the sonatas twice: in 1974 for Denon (currently available from Brilliant Classics in the UK) and in the 1990s for DG.

Check out Clara Haskil. She's outstanding.

Agree with Enrique, go to the library to preview the recordings before buying. 

I've got the Uchida set, and am quite happy with it.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Christoph Eschenbach's complete sonatas. The CD is only $23 bucks on Amazon at the moment.

I have had a quick look on you tube for the recording artists you have suggested but I agree, that it is best that I go into a library and take some time to listen to their CDs. From what I can see, buying from Amazon seems like the cheaper option too.

I am playing Mozart's Sonata K333 (Allegro) for my upcoming Grade 8 piano exam so hopefully I will find a recording that my teacher and I are happy with. My teacher has the Uchida set, I think she plays it beautifully but we both agree that it is a little rushed in parts.
