Good pieces to practice?
on: December 10, 2012, 08:46:18 PM
I have passed my piano exam so she recommended I should start playing some pieces for leisure whilst I do my theory. Are there any music on this website that would be a good and easy piece (not too easy) for a grade 5 student to play? I don't mind anything just as long as it isn't too complicated or long.
Thanks!

Scarf Dance/Air de Ballet No. 3 by Cecile Chaminade is a good piece to try. It is very beautiful and not too easy or too difficult. If you have not played Beethoven's sonata Op. 49 No. 2 I suggest you try that. I believe Tchaikovsky's Op. 39 No. 21 is also about the same level and very nice.

Try the Chopin Preludes.
There are some pieces in the set that have a gigantic difficulty difference, but you should probably be able to tell.
