Hi, I was wondering if it might work, (as long as it hasn't been tried already and it failed, or if it already exists but I don't know where it is) to start a sticky thread/topic, maybe on the performance forum, for upcoming recitals. I'm sure many of us live in same big areas or regions, and since most of the time it's hard to get public to attend to a recital when you're a student or not known, why not post here that X person will have a concert in Y area, with date, place, entrance fee, etc.?

I was thinking creating a locked thread/topic called "Upcoming Recitals", where the pianist can post his recital/information just once, maybe talk to a mod or admin so that he makes the post. I'm thinking locked so that it's controlled and stays on topic always and that only this kind of posts are allowed, no discussions, no polls, just recital announcements. Maybe some other rules like the most obvious and the reason for doing this thread: must include location/area and date, including the program that will be played, maximum 3 weeks of anticipation an minimum 1 week, etc. I don't know, is it a good idea?

Sounds pretty pointless to me, to be honest. I wouldn't have any particular interest in a thread that lists recitals that might be anywhere in the world. For such a thing to be of any use to people, it would have to restricted to a specific region.
