It's a joy to play and rewards your every effort! The only "hint" I would offer is to keep a solid beat ever-present in your practice, no matter how slowly you practice it. The rhythmic propulsion of this movement, for me, is its great attraction.
Have fun!

Hello!
I just recently learned this sonata for a recital I'm giving in the spring. No matter what you do, you need to maintain the rhythm and intensity. Even though I say this, don't be afraid to use a little bit of rubato to give the music breathing room. Also, the jumps in this piece are pretty gnarly. Just used dotted 8th/16th practice to really teach your muscles how to perform them. Now, it's a difficult piece, but it's not a hard piece to learn. I learned the 1st movement in about a week and a half. Have fun!

Donald, The piece is progressing nicely. Those rolled chords fall nicely in the right hand...but not as well in the left.....I will get them! Knowing the intervals helps the octaves...lots of 4ths. Thanks for the help from all!
