LTCL Diploma Balanced Programme
on: January 10, 2013, 02:42:40 PM
Hi Piano Streeters
I'm decided on doing a Trinity Diploma and I figured best thing for me to do while I'm at it is to join a internet community of likeminded people to keep my mind on track. And I've often found myself here reading through the forum when googling something or another about piano stuff, so here I am.
I have put together about 40 minutes of pieces that I believe are well balanced musically and technically. I'm looking for any advice/knowledge you guys/gals have to share regarding my selection.
In no particular order:
-Chopin Polonaise in F# minor, op. 44 (~9mins)
-Mendelssohn Prelude & Fugue in E minor, op. 35 no. 1 (~10mins)
-Rachmaninov Prelude in D major, op. 23 no. 4 (~5mins)
-Scriabin Etude in D# minor, op. 8 no. 12 (~3mins)
-Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 (with my own cadenza if i can manage it, exam regulations allowing) (~10mins + cadenza)
From what I understand a balanced programme doesn't mean I have to have a piece from each period. So I've taken the liberty of keeping quite a few periods out of the picture. Instead I've tried to get a range of moods, forms, styles and technical requirements.
Thanks for reading my life story!
