Which Chopin Mazurka?
on: October 21, 2004, 07:34:18 PM
I am currently learning to play Chopin's Nocturne in C# Minor, and Nocturne in E Flat Major, and I am looking to learn one of his Mazurkas, which is similar in difficulty to the above 2 pieces. Could someone please recommend me one of his nicest ones, thanks :)

well, try Op. 63 #3 (c-sharp minor).

I think this Mazurka could be comparable to your Nocturne (difficulty).

Well there are so many to choose from. I haven't listened to all of them, Somw that may suit you well are...

Op. 17 No. 4
Op. 33 No. 2
Op. 59 No. 2
Op. 24 No. 1
Op. 24 No. 3

Once again, I have barely scratched the surface. Get some recordings and see which ones you like...  :)
