Ravel Ondine Glissandos

Right now I am trying to master Ravel's Ondine and I am not sure if you absolutely must do the glissandos after the climax. Are you just allowed to scale the glissandos? It sounds pretty much the same, but I was just wondering which was preferred.

If it's "pretty much the same" instead of "exactly the same", then there must be a reason for it being specifically a glissando. I don't know because I haven't played it, maybe ask your teacher? I would also prefer to do it as scale though, I hate glissandos. Just make sure of what's the difference, maybe the only purpose is because at tempo it's easier to just pass one finger over the keys instead of playing each of them, or maybe the real purpose of the glissando has a more artistic and meaningful musical idea.

If it's purely a technical idea, then play it as you feel more comfortable.

The C scale Glissando is obviously useful/musical in a case where you're in C Major key....The Black Key Gliss. is useful/musical as well if you're in Dflat Major, E Flat minor, G Flat Major.

    Play it as scored, No need to make it hard on yourself, I've always changed fingerings acording to what feels/sounds best....sound is 1st important. feel is 2nd. and if you can't make it sound good without messing it up then choose a new piece.
There is so much still to be created. 88 keys, you do the math. ∞
