I would like to make a list of important skills that a musician, especially - pianist should have.here we go:personal soundtechniquesight readingbe able to sing from the sheet musicbe able to hear in his mind the melodiewhat else?Thank you!
Brendan765 talks so much sh*t. Not composing music is not ignorant. there is enough sh*t music out there without adding to it.
Don't want my *modern* works to sound like this https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php?topic=50177.0
I think it sounds bad, and I don't understand how other people could disagree with me. For an opening section/first section it sounds like an ending. Maybe you should "reach virtuosity (lol)" first before you compose above your technical abilities.
important skills for pianist
I think skills have little meaning in themselves. There are some things that should be present or should be developed in a pianist for him/her to get good skills:1) genuine love for/interest in music;2) genuine love for/interest in people;3) understanding of how the instrument works4) understanding of how the human body works5) understanding of how the audience listens, perceives music;6) ability to work without distraction;7) ability to let go of the ego and trust certain processes in life/nature.Paul
whats liszt wilde jagd sound like to you then genius? Supposed to be a wild hunt. Maybe you don't understand that not every piece starts quiet. This is supposed to imitate cannons tearing apart two ships in the beginning and then the victory walk over to claim the other ship. and then a dance party on the stolen ship is the next section your hearing at the end of this clip..which I played so terribly! ( those are supposed to be soft legato rolled chords-sweet sounding.. which then ends with an extremely grand ff fortissimo ending.
oh, it sounds wild alright, it sounds like somebody who has never operated a cannon in their life, trying to operate a machine that is clearly out of their depth, and missing a lot of notes, oops, i sam boats, in the process, then crawling to the other ship to ask if they have a life jacket.
