on: February 16, 2013, 02:32:16 PM
I would like to make a list of important skills that a musician, especially - pianist should have.

here we go:
personal sound
technique
sight reading
be able to sing from the sheet music
be able to hear in his mind the melodie

what else?
Thank you!

I can't sing out loud to save my life but personally need to:

Sing through the piano.

It helps to have these qualities:

Possess sense of rhythm.

Feel the music within ones self.

Be able to multi task, play two hands and count at the same time, etc.
Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.
