Just as an FYI, the viewing angle is different on the reflection compared to the main image.

Yes, and the reflection of the pianist on the lid is also at the wrong angle.  This means that it's photoshopped!

No. It means the camera wasn't directly at the midpoint between the lid and the piano base.

Yes, the camera was below the midline, that's why you can see the pin block in the reflection.  However, this makes the reflection of the pianist physically impossible.  You should be able to see more of the top of him, heads, hands, and all.  But you don't!  It's simply a mirror image that was edited into the lid.

I see more of him. For example you see the rest of his fingers, more of the top of his head. Since his head is closer to the lid, the viewing angle has less of an effect. While it's completely possible it's photoshopped, I'm not really sure why other than to clean it up like airbrushed models.

You might be right, but the reflection is irritating because it just looks wrong. That's what's throwing me off.

Can someone who is better at photoshop than me check to see if the reflection is a near exact image of the piano person?  It really does look like it and that's what's driving me insane.  I'd do this myself but I don't know how to use photoshop. :P

I can't believe we're really this obsessed about Mr. Sudbin's reflection in a piano lid.  What was already a surreal discussion about alien technology has become an even further absurd nit-picking over photoshop.  I think this what they wanted...(the aliens) OMG!    :o

Haha. If aliens were responsible for every photoshopped promo shot, they'd be way to busy to travel interplanetarily.

I'm a photographer and an artist so I'm very sensitive to these things.  Just like a musician is nit-picky about how to phrase a passage, so are photographers and artists about light.  My senses tell  me that it just can't be right which is why I mention it.

Hey, I figured out it was the pin block!  You have to give that to me. 8)

Don't the fingers instantly disprove that?

How?

The lid image shows his entire fingers, the main image doesn't.

I accept that the fingers are an accurate reflection, but that doesn't mean his head isn't.
