Getting prepare for an audition in May
on: March 10, 2013, 02:32:31 AM
Hello,
I have been practicing a lot in these pieces, and I still feel that I need to improve for May in order to be accepted in a music school.
Could you tell me what I need to improve?, please.
Thanks
Note: KV 545 has been recorded in wav in case you listen the sound very strange.

I listened to your last 2 pieces. You really need to get a teacher if you can not hear the mistakes you made- both timing and rhythm. You need to study the music bar by bar before attempting to play it. You need to practice your right and LH sepeartely. At the moments, the Melody line is lacking in ariculation and CONTROL. Sorry no pain no gain. Fix these issues up you will be a better player.

I think that finger strength is something that needs to be worked on. I would suggest practicing something like Schmitt (exercises for independence of the fingers). You also need to practice really slowly and
evenly
, evenness is the key. I tell my students (generally) the slower you practice something the faster (more even I should say) you will be able to play it. Practicing little pieces in great detail (like Czerny's etudes) are also very helpful for control.
