Let me see if I have this clear... this isn't you playing, it's Denis Matsuev playing this piece, but you've combined the audio of his concert, and the sheet music from IMSLP (I presume)???

Am I right? Because this is the audition room, where users post their recordings of pieces, so if this isn't you playing it, then it rightly shouldn't be here. I'm happy when users tackle music of this difficulty, but not some random video from a pianist who doesn't communicate here in the slightest.

Is it you playing the piece???

It's me. Live in Croatia, January 2013., with maestro Alun Francis and Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. :)

ZAGREB PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA
ALUN FRANCIS, conductor
ANTE VETMA, piano

CONGRATULATIONS on such beautiful and professional piano playing filled with enthusiasm and vigor. The ZAGREB PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA, under Alun Francis does justice to this challenging Rachmaninoff piece. It would be difficult for anyone to suggest any "improvement" of your performance after this due recognition to young Croatian  musical talents given by the Academy of Music in Zagreb. THANK you for sharing.

Student for many years of Ruben Dalibaltayan and currently full-time piano teacher at Music School at Pavao, Markovac in Zagreb, Croatia. WOW! your opinions and inputs would be most welcome here.

YouTube has this funny habit of suggesting commercial recordings of works. I thought this was Matsuev too. It's a compliment to you that we thought that - Matsuev is an amazing player though I don't find him all too musical. You seem to be doing a great job here. The sheet music makes me realize how fiendishly difficult some variations must be, far surpassing anything Liszt ever wrote.
Great job !

Thank you! :)

Thanks! Yes, I just complained to YouTube about that Matsuev thing, I hope they'll figure it out soon. :)

I'll be interested to see if they do - I am pretty sure this is an automated process.

Okay... then I apologise for my remark, as in the past there have been people who claimed to be pianists, but believe it or not - uploaded recordings of other people.

Why the would do that, I do not know... but it has happened on a couple of occasions.

Hi avetma,

Indeed, it does list Denis Matsuev as the piano soloist!  It doesn't seem to be a link or an advertisement from a company.  I would get the Matsuev thing fixed because it is only bound to continue to cause uncertainty about who the pianist is in your recording.

That is very nice playing, by the way!

Michael

Not the Grandes Etudes S. 137.

YouTube just sent me a mail, they say it's good news for me, and that I gained rights on this recording. Can any of you guys confirm this, does it look okay now? Thank you! :)

Hi avetma,

It looks like YouTube fixed it, and it is good to know that you have gained the rights to your own recording. ;D
