SUGGESTIONS for Chopin's Fantasie

hi!

Anyone perform Chopin's Fantasie before?? any suggestions on interpretation, dynamics, feeling, preparation...and overall performance of it??

let me know... i need to play it for an exam soon in school...

are you talking about his fminor fantasy? if so don't loose the crowd. Keep it fresh. I know these aren't too helpful, but just something to think about when interpreting.

the main problem is that it keeps repeating (in different keys) the same stuff - don't get bored, do something else everytime- use your imagination!

hey i am a student at the university of maryland, i am currently learning the fantasy.  here are some things to keep in mind.  yes it does repeat in different keys, but there are suttle differences that chopin puts there just to play a joke on us so be carefule. the first time the material is presented keep it more reserved and coherent.  the middle a little more relaxed, before the chorale.  then the last time it shows up, it must be very agitated and full of bravura.  even the last march is marked forte. the first time it was piano.  listen to kissins recording, its very well put together.  good luck with the piece!  its a fantastic work. no pun intended.
