I'm done with the piece. And I still don't hear those chords on the YouTube versions w score. Whenever I talk to my old teach I'll ask.
This piece was great fun to learn and play. A quick study too. And my prelude gaps are filled! Onto my Etude-Tableau gaps....

I think they play it, but it's rather drowned out by the cresc in the bass.
In this one you can see from Lugansky's hand that he does actually play it:
