Murray Perahia "The Aldeburgh Recital"
on: October 29, 2004, 02:49:52 AM
In my never ending journey of masterpieces, ive found this disc and i think it displays the best versions ever recorded of Beethovens Varations in C minor WoO 80 and Liszts Hungarian Rhapsody num 12. Who needs Arrau and Cziffra??

Its my favorite disc from Perahia.

A must for any piano lover.
The masterpiece tell the performer what to do, and not the performer telling the piece what it should be like, or the cocomposer what he ought to have composed.

This disc is SO good is not even funny.  The Schumann Fasschingswank aus Wien and the Rachmaninoff Etudes-Tableaux are first rate as well.
