Pros and Cons of all music sheet editions
on: October 29, 2004, 03:38:38 AM
I'm interested in discussing about the pros and cons of all the available sheet music editions on the market
Usually I buy sheet music from Curci Editions (italian publishers) they're quite expensive but very good, both the paper and print quality and the fingerings/editings or Ricordi (terrible red covers!!) for those available only in that edition
Nonetheless there are times (many times) in which I can't find here the sheet music I'm required to buy from my school (unbelievable but true) or when I want to buy something just for me and not required from school
On those cases I buy from musicroom or sheetmusicplus and there are always a lot of edition some very expensive, some cheaper
What are your favorites and why? What are the pros of cons of each?
So far I've seen on the market:
Kalmus, Dover, Alfred, Schirmer, Durand, Henle, Wiener, Koneman, Peters, Edition Musica Budapest
Are there others?
Daniel
