Thanks for pointing out the importance of May 7, jknott.

I'm going now to play Brahms, the E minor cello sonata I'm working on.
 
Later, I plan to drink a beer, maybe two, in his memory.
From all reports, he was a crusty, generous, hard-working man.
And, of course, we know from his music about his genius.

He will live on long after we are all dead and forgotten because of his compositions.

i've just played the opus 117 cycle all through - twice.

genius indeed - and crusty perhaps but so handsome when young ...
