Anyone else practicing a Beethoven sonata?

I'm working on one and I thought it would be interesting to learn if anyone else is.

I am beginning to practice Beethoven's Sonata in F minor op. 2 no. 1. I like Beethoven cuz it's not hard to analyse, to understand and to memorize. At the same time it is musically very gratifying.

I'm working with the Pathétique ... I am a slow learner and I think this will take the rest of the year.
As a side project I have begun to look at the 19th sonata as well. I learned the 2nd movement of the Appassionata (cannot say I play it very well, though) and I really long for learning the other movements too, but they are long and difficult so I have decided to leave it for the future right now.

... did I say that I just LOVE Beethoven?  This music is so incredible fun to learn!

I absolutely love the Beethoven sonatas, and I'm working on four at the moment! I've set myself a personal challenge to learn all 32 sonatas - no time limit though, so I might not get to the end of it. But I've divided the 32 sonatas up into eight groups of 4, roughly in order of difficulty. I'm more or less at the end of the first phase now - just a bit of final "polish" to add.

Oh! I absolutely love Beethoven!
I'm passionately in love with his Piano Sonatas!

I'm currently practicing Op.2 No.1 in F Minor, as well as Op.2 No.3 in C Major!
They are two of my favourite ones!
I've also played Op.49 No.1 & 2 and Op.13 "Pathetique", as well as movements from other ones.

I'm doing the pathetique and the appassionata in a recital tomorrow.

I used to not like Beethoven, but after a while, I was like...

Opus 109, and the third cello sonata in A Major, Opus 69, for me right now.

He gets better, I think, as you get older. Don't know why. It's that combinations of classicism and romanticism--perfect. One thing--Beethoven doesn't get any easier. In many ways his music is as transparent as Mozart, yet as difficult technique-wise as Brahms or Rachmaninoff.

I'm finishing op. 2 no. 1, it took me 5 months (after a 23y break from regular practice, in my defense)...and still a way to being musically good according to my teacher (are teachers ever fully satisfied?), though I can play most of it by heart. The second movement is simply gorgeous...The fourth movement is fun to play at speed, with a few decent technical challenges for me, while musically it is relatively straightforward.

I love the first movement! I'm not really into the rest of it (it is good music, but i like other pieces much more). I always become happy and feel like all my worries are gone when hearing the first mvt.

I happen to be learning the Sonata in G Major Opus 49 No. 2. A fairly easy and quick piece my teacher assigned to me for the summer and I have been enjoying it so far. A wonderful, vibrant composition. Has anyone played it yet?

I have a few in various states of done-ness. Mostly I'm not getting the sound I want yet from some of the harder works (Appassionata), and they're still pretty rough around the edges. Getting Beethoven just right is hard.
