Burning a piano..!
on: May 15, 2013, 10:07:12 PM
Hello everybody,
I am new here but i felt I must share this with other like minded people. Via a social networking site I came across this video
you will notice that towards the end of the video this fine piano is set on fire by these musical instrument destroyers. I don't know about you guys but its just such behavior that gets me fired up (no pun intended!) I mean, what an unacceptable waste of a piano!
Thank you
James

Hmm, is that spam I smell cooking?

Assuming not, the immolation is not the worst thing they do to the piano.

It's not spam.  It's prosciutto.

It's a link to some music video, not a burning piano. Don't click on it.

;D  Instead, instead this old burning piano favorite...  ::)

And now... A burning piano launched via trebuchet.

Question:  Is this music? If so, where does the piece begin and end?  Answers must include a topic sentence, and you must use complete sentences for full credit.  (Having your mom call and b**@# about being graded down for not following directions will result in lower grades on future graded assignments.)

I'm putting those on loop for my piano to watch. Maybe it will behave itself better!

Are these real piano snuff films, or merely stunt pianos acting?
I am especially suspicious of the music video piano...clearly two pianos are involved, as the musician is performing after then ancient upright is immolated.

Another question: if stunt pianos are involved, do they have membership in SAG, or are they scabs?

I'm just saying.

It is a link to a music video where a piano is burned. This isn't spam. Let's just hope it is a stunt piano. Although if you look carefully you will notice they are both one and the same. The reason the chap is playing it after you see it being burnt could have something to do with 'video editing'. Either way.. a piano met its end....  >:(

*Bob watches the video.*

Must be an American band?  21st century problem:  Guitarist has playing issues because his gut is getting in the way.    It looks like that guy is playing his gut.

About 2:30 they burn it.

It's a Gilbert.  I don't see a huge loss here.  Oops.  3:02 the piano is back! and only a little bit on fire.

Someone must have pushed the piano over. It's not going to fall over because of that fire.

Who's job is it to move the piano after they're done?  That would be fun.

I don't see an issue.  Unknown piano brand.  At least it got some artistic use in the end.  There are plenty of old uprights without homes out there.  It probably got more attention this way than it ever would have.  *sniff*

There are many pianos that should be retired, and burning a piano is hardly burning a flag. My only complaint would be with the carbon emissions. I believe Anderson & Roe will burn a piano in their upcoming Rite of Spring video.  In any case, lots of pianos are destroyed every month because people are getting rid of them and they can't find good homes.  An upright piano is not a particularly expensive or high quality instrument.  If you had a video of somebody burning a Strad, then I would be upset.  this is nothing.

A piano burning is simply nothing......Back in the early 1900s the boisendorfer factory was raided and the pianos burned and used as fire wood. :(

that's a real tragedy.  I really like Bosendorfers.
