Glenn Gould didn't particularly like the piano, as he famously said in one of his doubtless intentionally inflammatory remarks in an interview after his period of concertizing.

But I still do this thread, because.  Maybe one day one of you Wunderkinder will reveal some flash of insight I haven't already practiced and done concerning recalling by memory lengthy pieces of music at the keyboard.

I still think without bass pedals the piano is a neutered instrument, but it is one that one accepts.
