But it looks so good.

I always like to brush my teeth with a mixture of shite and some kind of a cream confectionary.

And how many teeth do you still have left???

You all brought it on yourselves!

Choosing to live in that place down under where even the sheep are sheep.

Well... they're sheep. What else are sheep supposed to be???

I don't know.  They are furry, though.  Once I was petting one.  So soft.  I just kept petting it until I pet it too hard and then it was dead all of a sudden.

And how many teeth do you still have left???

Most of them.  I've had a fifth wisdom tooth extracted a long time ago, and recently one dissected and extracted by a dental surgeon recently.  And recently had one of my only cavities filled.

Then again, I rigorously floss and brush twice daily.

With manly vigor.

And always wash up with a full can of beer.  Dentition requires accommodation by sugars, as one knows.  And whiskey is its own brand of purification.

I can't imagine you brushing your teeth with any other type of vigour.

Although - a real man would have just extracted the 5th wisdom tooth with his bare hands.

Well I tried.

At least you've affirmed my hypothesis that all men desire to become me, and all women desire to feel my essence.

It's a blessing.  And a curse.

Alas, I only have one true love, which is that sport called "sidehacking."

Where'd the furries go anyway?  Or was it just that one weirdo?

One couldn't presume.

I should tthink they are all Soviet spies so that I can detest them more.

I think we all probably agree that Rachel Weisz is a nice piece of tail and has been a very good actor for a few decades.

I rather enjoy women of my own age cohort, which is why it was so upsetting to me that I had to let this last one go....she wasn't in it to win it, and had the mental age of about twelve or so, although, like me, she was in her forties.

Meh.  I'll probably just petrify and ossify as I grow older, and become better at Attic Gk and Latin composition so as to scold the youths about the better.

Kids these days.  May I be so bold, they should stay the hell off my lawn.

No, but does she get nekked in it?

I like that about Diane Lane movies.  She gets nekked in a lot of them movies.

See?

This is the kind of locker-room shenanigans and talk that drives so many of our best and most capable from the demanding and lucrative field of being a piano player!

One must aspire to higher standards of discourse, lest we become irrelevant.

Paul Hogan

Also, to remain on point, how would you people notate the rhythm to that Victor Young tune "Delilah"?

Yeah, I'm still going to pencil it in, including the introductory bass part, but I've got two minds about whether to notate it in cut time or use a triplet notation....same thing, but the feeling is so precise on Mr. Burrell's recording that I'd almost rather expand it out into cut time rather than push everything into triplets.

And this is just a regular 4/4 tune, so...it's not for anyone to read, necessarily, but I do sometimes wonder how other people would notate this.

It's predominantly felt in four, without a 12/8 in sight, but when it comes to even notating the basic theme or Kenny's first chorus, it becomes a question of taste as to how to notate the anticipation of the downbeat on each bar, and each other ictus.

Actually, it's really felt in about half time, which makes it even more a PITA to notate....meh....I'll just write it in four and use triplet notation ad hoc....it's a tricky one to capture the feel of on paper.  Should see if Vic Young wrote out the tune, or how his publishers did it (you know, they had to do that back in the old days, in order to claim copyright on a tune, so either the composer or some unlucky bloke would have to write it out and submit it as proof of claim).

It's not really the tune itself....far from it....more the arrangement and how to best capture the piece.  There are certain idioms for notating improvised performances in jazz, for example, with which I'm very well acquainted, but when I want to write something like this out, I want it to be good, rather than just putting pencil and scratching something out.

And, yes, I am using pencil and staff paper....although am not happy with the 6B lead...drop down to 3B I think...easier to use the eraser on that.

I'm still writing it out, no mistake, in addition to making a tablature version of the guitar (well, one of several possible tablature notations) and the specific voicings of the piano accompaniment....striking thing is how spare Tommy Flanagan's LH is throughout this tune, even during his solo....really it's such a simple framework of a tune that both of the chordal instruments sort of are happy to lay out and not further entrench the tune with any additional complexities, which would always be possible with a tune like this), but out of curiosity it is of a kind of abstract and curious question.

Ok Lennie Small, we all know you are a physically strong but mentally disabled, who loves soft things. He unintentionally kills a mouse by petting it too hard because he "loves it" and doesn't know his own strength.

Well, she was a child at that age.  OK, she was fourteen, apparently, when they made the video.

And Van Halen were known for taste and circumspection in all things.

Are music nerds known for retributive, indiscriminate attacks made by nuclear weaponry, from orbit or no?

They're not generally known for their dancing abilities, either, although exceptions exist, such as Claudio Arrau.

The one in the dinosaur costume has womanly facial features and appears to be of reproductive age.

Could be about thirty or so to me.  Maybe some kid's mom or something, the way the younger kids are reproducing like rabbits when they're not slapping their Roblox paddles.

But I question her (?) motivation for donning the suit....sounds like something some crazy drunk bar-girl would do on a dare....not that I have any recent experience with immature women who are pushing fifty years of age.

That was a sick burn

Calling every response to a comment doesn't make it a sick burn. It's got to be edgy, insulting, and clever... all of which were missing.

(i) How the hell do you know what age that "otherkin" or whatever womanly humanoid is under that costume?

That's the face of a thirty year old woman, to me.

But I've been wrong before, and I've done my penance.

For my alleged crimes, and I have never been convicted of any crime.

That is a womanly face peering out of the dinosaur costume, though, and one who is in her twenties or mid thirties.  Trust me.  I know women as well as Wesley Willis knows McDonald's.

Not talking about the kid in the goat costume or whatever....that's your area of expertise.

(ii) Yeah, but you still were pwnd, just a little bit.

Maybe it was not a "sick" burn, but you still deserved it!

I also looked at the dimension of the face in relation to her height. She seems to have a rather tall face for her body height. To me this suggests she is a teenager and hasn't reached her full height yet.

Well, supposedly the costume is inflatable.

And if she were at a playground, she may be the mother of a child she hates and wishes to dispose of and needs help destroying the evidence.

Or perhaps carries a bottle of this in his pocket:

And encourages women of reproductive age to try some?

Yes, I did just now buy a bottle of this.  It is a peated Irish whiskey....Irish whiskies I enjoy in general, but they don't have the ability to use peat as a flavor note...those are invariably the worst Irishes.

Oh it's a terrible whiskey.  I don't think I'll ever drink any more of it.  And I have very low standards indeed!

But I missed my chance to try to hit on the gal at the liquor store who told me about this, in between laughing hysterically..."You know, now that I have Muff Liquor, would you care to come over to my place and try some?"

She's the one who told me about it and showed me where it was on the shelf.

We were both laughing hysterically.

She also showed where she put two Japanese "Scotches" called "Fuk" and "Yu" next to each other on the shelf.

No, I don't think it's possible to sexually harass her.  Anyway, I don't work there.  So presuming she wasn't DTF, that would just be rude, not a crime.

Yes, I "do" a few subreddits in Latin language and MST3K, but my anecdote was actually true.

Fine, I'll take a picture next time.  It's not that photo, nor do the bottles resemble those in the photo.

Nor am I going to ask liquor store gal to pose for a photo giving you the birds up sign....well...I might...and she might do it.

Fokker.....was a good airplane....for a while.

You, "sir" are maligning my good name here.

If I ever steal anything, I'd be proud of it and would brag about it here.

Besides, I like that liquor store gal.  Maybe she made it up, but I wouldn't know.  Maybe one of her cronies at her shop saw it somewhere and thought it was funny so they recreated that hilarious sight gag in their own store.

I'll be sure to snap a picture next time, wiseguy.

All I know is I stick my Ruger MAX-9 down the front of my pants, with a holster, and I feel like a young man, proud and good, strong enough to beat the world.

How dare you, sir.

I'll see you at the next Renaissance Faire, surely, for then we shall surely joust for the spoils.

Correct.  We in the highlands choose to simply call that being a rude dick, and if the pattern continues, it can be elevated to a criminal charge being raised, along the lines of robust stalking, harassment, menacing, and other clearly defined statutes.

You don't need me to do that... nor have I needed to.

Do you think my handgun is noticeable from this picture?

I just received my license to carry from the state today.  Deep background check, fingerprints, facial recognition, all that.

The current sitting moribund "President" of the United States is, as a private citizen, deprived of his right to carry, own, or possess any firearm in my home state, and cannot conduct any business or any part of a business in the state of New York.

So, I pretty much win.

I have a license from the U.S. government that permits me to carry a concealed, loaded weapon, and I am also allowed to conduct trade or establish a business anywhere I please.

My name is Nellie, and I take pride in helping protect the children of my community through active leadership roles in my local church and in the Boy Scouts of America.  Bad word make me sad.

God Bless the United States...

or should that be God help the United States???

I genuinely think the reason there are so many shootings in the US is because every single citizen is so on edge about someone else withdrawing their hidden weapon and potentially shooting up the place.

Well, personally, I hope there are more "school" shootings.

Can't stand children anyway, so best to just get rid of the whole bloody lot of them at one go.

I'm pretty sure that leads to the extinction of the American people...

Is that a good thing... I'm not going to weigh in, on that opinion... only because no matter what side you're on - you're going to get flak either way.

The same "people" who invited that senile orange turd to drool on their laps daily?

*** 'em.

They get what they deserve.

And never mind, I have to go attend to something right now so I must be alone in my private area.

Rock and Roll McDonald's, or whatever you people say these days.  Sure.

I like to play this one in the key of Eff major.

The theme is easy enough... trying to calculate those double sharps in Variation 1 however is sometimes a pain...

I mean for other people... I just work out the sound of the note in the new key in my head, and play it - I don't even think in terms of double sharps etc...

And when your keyboard is off from pitch at A=440 Hz?

Yeah.

Not so smart then, is you!

Doesn't bother me - I've listened to many historical recordings of pieces in Baroque tuning and it doesn't phase me one bit.

I'm also going to prove you don't necessarily lose your perfect pitch with age. You never forget colours as you age, so why would you forget what a C sounds like, or a G sharp???

I guess... or a meteor could hit the earth and obliterate all life as we know it.

...but the chances of that seem very, very slim.
