Actually, it's mind boggling how extreme the planet can be. I remember once it was 40 degrees (Celsius for all you weird Americans who still use obscure methods of measurement, including the imperial units), and a friend of mine was travelling to Scotland in a weeks time, so I went to check what the weather was like at that moment, and it was -20 degrees Celsius.
Couldn't comprehend that there could actually be 60 degrees difference at the exact same time on the same planet. Quite extraordinary.
