Perth is an artistic quagmire.
There are pockets around the place trying to draw in people to share their musical talents. But we all panicking over covid atm lol everyone is boarding up their doors. Concerts sales are run so crap here if people knew what they were doing they could fill it, instead they rely on scatter gun advertising and wonder why they miss the mark.
The free outdoor orchestral concerts are becoming quite popular now though many local councils are doing it all over WA. Given that they cost up to 150k to organise its great to see councils giving us some culture!! Times are changing.
We'll forever be a sporting nation with this weather we have no one wants to spend time indoors. There really is something to that I think, when I lived in Germany during the cold season it was so dark and dreary all day you'd want to stay indoors.
I find artistic inspiration that can be drawn from our land is quite powerful though much more so than many other places I've been to. The solitude you can have here being one with nature really is a deep pool of creative energy. You can drive a few minutes out of town and your totally isolated. Go to large cities overseas and you have millions of people around you all the time wherever you go, it's so suffocating.
