Reaching eveness (and velocity)

Hi erverybody,

just started working on Bach Invention no 14 B flat major.
I am wondering how to learn the 1/32-motif, e.g. bar 4, so it flows easily and fast.

Can you please give some advice.

The same figures repeat throughout, though the fingering for them is not necessarily the same.. 

You need to work out your fingering, then start slow. Concentrate on maintaining evenness, the correct fingers and notes, and maintaining a pulse (albeit at this stage a slow one). Then gradually get faster, but only in stages so you maintain everything else.

My main problem is staying slow until its even, I guess, I try to get fast too soon.

It's a common fault, but the extra time you spend getting it even before you go for speed will pay handsome dividends in the final result.

I'll add this as a student and not a teacher:  I'm learned over time that I need to spend a minimum of twice as long going slowly as I think I should!

Your right: Slowliness. When I try really slowly, finally it gets much faster. But there is always a limit, lets say at about 132 beats in 4/4 playing semiquavers. I got the idea, it might have something to do with a failure of wrist relaxation.
