I would appreciate your ideas for programming a recital of 'children's music'.

I am putting together a recital program to use as a fundraiser for my church, which is beginning a capital campaign to raise funds for a complete renovation of the children's building. I think it would be neat to program works related to children or childhood in some way. The connection can be fairly distant so long as I can bring it out in program notes or spoken commentary during the performance.

I have the following pieces in mind but would appreciate additional suggestions:

Kinderszenen by Schumann
Children's Corner by Debussy
Pavane pour un Infante Defunte (a bit maudlin, or even morbid, I suppose, but such a pretty melody)
Quaderno musicale di Annalibera by Dallapiccola

Variations on 'ah vous dirai-je maman' by Mozart seems like a fun encore for such a program.

Suggestions for additional repertoire (and/or thoughts on these selections) would be appreciated.

Tchaikovsky and Kabalevsky both wrote childrens suites.

Ravel's suite Ma mère l'oye (Mother Goose) is enchanting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ma_m%C3%A8re_l%27oye - I recommend the original piano duet version if you can find a duet partner.

Bartok's Pieces for Children

Kurtag's Jatekok

Kapustin's Sonatina op 100

Medtner's op 54 could also qualify

Bernhard has several posts on children music. I'll try to find one of these.

Here are some suggestions.

Schumann : Album for the Young (opus 68).

Mozart: Variations on "Ah vous dirais-je Maman" (K. 265)

Prokofiev : Musiques d'enfants (opus 65)

Granados : Cuentos de la Juventud (opus 1)

Villa-Lobos : Guia Pratico (this might be a bit hard to find this sheet music), Cirandinhas, Petizada.

Shostakovich has some pieces for children. They aren't easy to find. I have the books. I'll check them when I'm at home.

I know Bartok has several children sets : For children and Mikrokosmos in six volumes. There might be more.

Ma Mère l'Oye is PERFECT.  I played this with a friend in a recital a few years ago, and it's very sparse, but is so much fun to play.  The finale in the 'Jardin Feerique' is sublime.
Interested in discussing:

-Prokofiev Toccata
-Scriabin Sonata 2
