Feeling underappreciated at work
on: June 04, 2013, 04:28:29 PM
Since last week, I have felt underappreciated at work.

Normally I don't care and I think in my own things like playing the piano, reading, watching TV and visiting new places, but I feel that my boss and my team leaders think that I am not a good worker.

Why do I think it?, because since last week, I have put my effort and cancelled my french courses in order to do a presentation which can get me a promotion, but during the simulation my boss seemed to not care. To begin with, he asked me to give the presentation in Spanish and not in English as it is supposed to be, he was more interested in his appointments which were planned at the last minute, so there were many interruptions and so I lost my energy during those interruptions. He explained more the topics instead of letting me explain it.  We didn't see all the topics, only the ones which he handled.

What made it more frustrated was that he told me that I spoke very slowly and I had to be more dynamic when he told me form the beginning to relax and sit down.

This week he said that I wasn't ready so my presentation is going to be postponed, when he didn't let me performed.

Also some of my coworkers are going to do a trip and I wasn't considered as an option. I get angry when they say that I am stalled when I have shown interest in improving myself at work.

Maybe everything is in my head and I have to be clean with my boss and team leaders, but I am afraid of saying something which can lead either to a misunderstanding or to something more emotional.

What can I do?
