I was just curious, as my piano teacher has given me this piece.

The Australian music examination board (AMEB) has that piece listed in grade 7 of its Piano for Leisure syllabus. It also appears at Grade 10 of the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) syllabus.

The Henle publishers rate Arabesque no. 1 as a grade 4 out of a total of 9 grades; 1 being the easiest and 9 being the most difficult.

The Arabesque is not a big challenge technically, however, to play it truly well is extremely difficult.

I actually learned this piece for my grade 7 exam! It's difficult at first if you're new to 2 against 3 (eighth note against triplet) rhythm, and it's not easy to make it sound effortless, like it's supposed to sound. I absolutely loved the piece, though -- it's gorgeous! Good luck
