For those of us who spend our lives on the bench — whether teaching, practicing for a recital, or simply playing for the love of it – the piano has always been a singular concept: wood, felt, strings, and soul. Songs students practice obsessively
on: June 16, 2013, 06:42:20 PM
As a piano teacher, I have had students practice songs obsessively over and over again - and had other songs they didn't care about.

Currently my memory fails me on exactly which songs my students practiced over and over again, so I am turning to the forum for help.

Can you name some songs which your students practice obsessively over and over again?

Thanks for any help!

If you mean songs that can actually be sung, then Mary Had A Little Lamb seems to be an old time favourite.
Beethoven - Sonata in C sharp minor, Op 27 No 12
Chopin - Fantasie Impromptu, Nocturn in C sharp minor, Op post
Brahms - Op 118, Nos 2 & 3

Songs and compositions are two completely different things. What you are reffering to is compositions or pieces, not songs.

I find that my students practice all pieces equally.
