If I were the adjudicator of LACHSA, I wouldn't care so long as the repertoire is well prepared and played with finesse. Sadly to say that both pieces are often not well-presented. If you want to impress, play also the corresponding fugue to the prelude.

PS. "Waves" by Bloch is a wonderful piece. Too bad you were not into it. Likewise, Rach's Elegie.

I'd rather hear you play something you relate to and through which you have something to say. The actual piece is immaterial.
