I have an audition in a couple months and I was looking for some recommendations for some level 3 or 4 pieces that you think the audition judges will not be completely bored of (so no fur elise etc.).

I like nearly all kinds of classical but I don't trust myself to interpret bach or any baroque so please keep it mozart or later (I need dynamic and phrasing markings).

If you all could just start throwing names out there I can go to youtube and see which ones I like best.

Thanks

One must do level 3, IMO, would be Robert Schumann's, The Wild Horseman. It's zippy if done correctly.
Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.

Searching for some pieces, I just found out piano street has a list of some of the most popular ones. You can find the list in the top bar: Piano music -> recommended pieces.
Also my personal recommendation would be Bach's little prelude in D major (BWV 936). I know, you don't want to play Bach. But give this piece a chance, it's incredible. I think I'll have to relearn it myself now that I'm thinking about it.

Some of the Grieg Lyric pieces should work.
Here are a couple

The only problem with that is that I want unpopular pieces so I can give the judges something they haven't heard 1000 times.

Thanks for the recommendation (even though it's bach  :P); I'll check it out.

Patrickd, I think the Grieg pieces are too difficult as Level 3 or/and 4.
Nickadams, try some Kabalevsky Op. 27 or Op. 39 pieces. Some are showy, attractive, and appropriate for your level.

If you happen to have a digital piano with organ sounds or an organ, try that little Prelude with organ !

Have a look at Scarlatti's G minor sonata, grade 4 and very nice. In addition to the listing of pieces on piano street you could also (if you are on Android) check this app, which has several thousand pieces searchable by grade, composer etc.

I love this one! I'm a little worried about the 32nd notes, but I'll give it a try.

I also like the bach prelude in d minor, although I think the phrasing and dynamics will be hard for me.

Here are a few more pieces I found that I really like:

please feel free to add more!

Thanks asiantraveller101, I've been checking out some of the Op. 27 pieces and I really like them but there's so many! Do you have a few specific favorites of the Op. 27 and Op. 39 you would recommend?

Op. 27 contains harder pieces than Op. 39. So, if it is an audition you are aiming for, perhaps I will choose from Op. 27. The most popular ones from Op. 27 are No. 3, 12, 18 and 20. I like them all and they are well-written pedagogical pieces. Personally I would choose the less played ones since they are equally precious; like 22, 26, 27, 29, etc.
Why don't you ask your teacher for some selection?
Cheers.

Hello, Why dont yuo try this Granado's Piece? It's easier than it looks and is short, apart from really nice

Or this other one by Grieg, it' also easier than it looks

or this

The three of them sound really nice and are quite easy to learn. I hope you like them
