Today was the day when the admission list to the music school was set.

I didn't appear in the list.  I am so frustrating, I think I am not qualified to be a professional pianist.

However, I am not sure if it was good or not.  The reason I want to enter to the school is because I want to improve in my techinique at the piano, know how to play correctly, fix my mistakes and learn enough to play pieces like Chopin's Ballad, Ravel's Jeux d'Eau, Chopin's Revolutionary and so on.

I want to repeat the exam next year, but I fear that there will be a moment when I will be insecure, lazy and I won't want to play for a time.

I love to play piano, but I am not sure if I have the right level after 10 years.

I want to be in piano courses, but I think I haven't reached yet the necessary level to enter.

Also I feel that I have become more lazy with my practices. Probably that was the reason of why I wasn't chosen.

How can I stop being lazy?

Hey there! I do not know your name so I will refer to you as Faa if that is ok  :)

First off, I have always found entry exams tiresome and stressful events that do not portray a persons real (In this case) musical ability. It rather shows the judges how you can play under stress, which in all fairness is a skill you must possess in order to become a concert pianist.

You say you do not think you are qualified to be a professional pianist. Why is that ?

Also, you have to start listening to your own recordings in order to start increasing your musical awareness (of your own playing). A pianist absolutely needs to know how the sound he makes is perceived by the audience.

What are your ultimate goals ? do you want to make a living playing the Piano ?

Sorry to hear FAA. But really you should have listened to what we have had said to you before and follow the steps we have suggested. You really need to get some one that is qulaified as a teacher that can really help you to fix up your some basic rhythemic issues. Sometimes in life we have to accpet the TRUTHS, in the ends its what you can do with the truths can resolve the problems in a logical manner. Dnt be dishearted.....Hopefully  a positive oucome will arrive soon..... ;)

I have accepted the TRUTHS a long time ago, that's why I have been in workshops and with other teachers since last year.

I can learn as long as people are not rude, don't say negative things, they have enough patience, respect my personal space and don't treat me like trash or low my steem.

In fact, the teachers who evaluated me weren't rude, they said that I have issues to check like timing and other things. However, they also told me not to give up with playing the piano.

And also I have been with other teachers since September. I think I have had mentioned it to you before: the teachers and the workshops.

If not, here is the link of the post I put:

Faa2010, I would strongly suggest, if you DO have any auditions in near future, 4 weeks ahead(you should be well prepared), upload your reportoire to piano froum and we will try to fix all your rhythmic error IF you do have any before emabarssing youself in front of music schools.
Otherwise, you have wasted your efforts and kept trying to play something that is constant wrong. :( sorry to be honest) But its the best way to improve your playing. I hope you are feeeling better now. :'(

Do you have a recording of your playing? I'm just curious.

If you want my advice seek a therapist. I believe that insecurity is a huge huge deal, and from what I can observe through your post, is the core of your issue. Please please don't get put off by the notion that seeking help is bad.

Remember that Rachmaninoff sought help for his depression after his failure with his Piano Concerto No. 1 and it changed his life and music for the better.
