Bach busoni chaconne
on: July 07, 2013, 06:26:09 AM
So two main questions
Would this be appropriate for college auditions?
And what period would this go into?!?

Sometimes piano competitions don't like transcriptions/arrangements, but auditions may be different.
And it is most definitely romantic. It is a romantic piece based off a baroque piece.

My teacher doesn't want me to audition with liszt TE 8 because its too risky. So I'm trying to find a replacement. I think I may have found "the one"

Played well, it should make an excellent audition piece. Not easy to classify, however. I believe some have a more open ended "major work" requirement where it would fit, otherwise it may be problematic. Shame, as it shows off a lot of varied abilities.
