I'm curious.... have you ever gone through and played the entire piece with both hands?

For me the only drawback of your performance was that it sounded a bit as though this was a piece for the left hand alone.

I think Scriabin intended for it to sound like beautiful music. I think that your performance could have been more successful in this sense.

You're definitely on the right track and there was much to admire in your rendition. But is this really how you would play it with both hands?

I think that as long as you could theoretically (and practically!) play it more beautifully with both hands, then there is plenty more work to be done!

I'm thinking Scriabin could play it with his left hand so beautifully that it was just that; a piece for the left hand-no RH needed whatsoever!

p.s. I believe Scriabin wrote this when he was studying in the conservatory and injured his right hand while practicing.

yes he did, playing Liszt works. I suppose he was competing with Rachmaninioff..

Good job! I had no knowledge about this piece or Scriabin, but I like the performance and the story behind it. According to Wikipedia, his doctor told him he would not regain use of his right hand, so this seems to me like a perfect example of "When life gives you lemons". He just would not give up. I have a question about the piece though: I think parts of it really reminded me of Chopin's Nocturne Op 9 no 2. Do you think this is a coincidence, or is it maybe a (not so) hidden homage to Chopin?

I also agree that it would probably be possible to play the piece even better with two hands, but I like the story that the performance is telling when played with just one hand. Seems like good exercise for the left hand as well.
