Duets :)
on: July 27, 2013, 03:56:27 PM
One of my good friends also plays the piano! :) We did a duet in April of this year, and it went well. She'd done the primo part at a competition and I learned the seconds to play with her. I've just started grade 8 rcm (some pieces at that level include Bach inventions, Beethoven op 49 no 1, Chopin prelude in b minor for those who aren't familiar with the rcm grading system). She did her grade 5 rcm exam in June and I believe she got a 89. She starts grade 6 rcm in August. We are looking for another duet. Is there any good duets for 1 piano 4 hands at our level? :) Thanks for your help!
I'm going into grade 8 RCM, & am preparing for the Basic Harmony exam. :)
Over the summer I'm working on some Bach inventions, & Bartok Romanian Folk Dances.
I also play violin & guitar! :D

Absolutely! I would recommend the Three Little Pieces by Anton Bruckner!

There is also a lovely Sonata by Anton Diabelli that would suit.

I would suggest you play the Secondo parts.

I'm overjoyed to hear that you are interested in four hands. A vast world of the absolutely finest compositions ever conceived awaits you if you dedicate time to your duet playing.

Virtually everything ever written for orchestra is available arranged for piano duet, most of it for one piano four hands! It tends to be extremely challenging to put together, but very rewarding spiritually.

Thankyou so much! I will definitely check those out! Would they be on imslp?
