Different methods for different technique
on: November 04, 2004, 04:20:35 PM
I've noticed that there's a method suited for each technique problem that one enconters while practicing a piece

For example I've understood that the best way to practice triplets is by playing them as chord, averlapping them, and then breaking the chords into separate notes
This method seems to be very good also for fast arpeggios

But there are other chunks where practicing by chords may not be so effective and another methods may be utilized
I wonder what are to you the best method for practicing:

1) fast thirds
2) fast eight notes (such as in Bach inventions)
3) hold note for the whole bar while playing fast eight ntes or triplets (such as impromptu)
4) fast jumps on the left hand
5) non polyphonic bars (where botn hands work alternated on just one part/voice)
6) fast staccato notes
7) fast octaves
