What the heck do you do when you're bored.

I've been really TIRED recently, and I don't know why.  It's really sucking the life out of me.

I've been pretty unmotivated to practice recently, and I don't know why.

I can't skate, it's wet outside.  And I can barely move from yesterday.   

Anyone have any good anime suggestions?

Good manga suggestions?

Good Manhwa suggestions?

good movies to watch?  Of course I'm not buying it, I'm gonna get a torrent of it.

I haven't picked up a book to read since August started...  Any suggestions?

Actually I have an encyclopedia of all composers, but I don't wanna pick it up yet...

I'm not in the mood for speed cubing.

The best I've come up with is planning.  Plan it, force yourself to stick with it as much as you realistically can (plan smartly to begin with of course), and force yourself to wrap up it up and end the project when you're out of time.

Eventually you build up more stamina. 

Sleep, good exercise, nutrition, etc.  I've got plenty of posts on it. 

But do keep practicing.  You don't always have to be into it.

If you're in school soon, you won't be bored.  There will be plenty of work (no end to it) waiting for you.  As much and more than you can handle.  Enough that you can wear yourself out on it.

Actually that makes sense being tired now.  Your mind/body can trick you into resting up before the semester starts.

Well duh, you're a professional pianist.  You have to keep practicing to keep up with your competition.

Go on Youtube and listen to random piano vids.  Just pick some piece, composer, or pianist you don't know much about.  Go to town on the recommended video list. 

Compose some music. 

Compose music while speed cubing. 

Bob's got a point though.  You are going have very little time available when school starts.  Enjoy doing nothing.  Go to a park, sit under a tree, contemplate the meaning of ending the world..., etc.

Boredom is virtually unknown to me, in fact I struggle to understand what it feels like. I sometimes experience what I assume is almost the converse problem though, an over-abundance of external stimuli. These usually take the form of events and impingements I am obliged to deal with, or more hopefully avoid, but have little interest in.

Most of the things I am interested in are very dependable ecstasies, music for example; always there, always ready to fill any lacuna in consciousness. Simple tiredness, strangely enough, can be caused by too little activity, mental and physical, as well as too much.

Sleep while you can.  That's what I'd do.  If possible.

Or start working ahead on things you know will come up during the upcoming semester(s).

I'm never bored really... If I had extra time to spend I think I would read more books...used to read a lot, lately not so much...And one can never sleep too much, I really would love to to take naps during the day. Unfortunately I don't have a couch in my office...

R-4: It seems time just goes faster when you get older. When I was your age I did sometimes get quite bored and when I did I just went out and get drunk...Don't recommend it to you though

Being tired for no reason is a sign of some fairly heavy duty depression, based on some of your recent threads I wouldn't be surprised if you were getting a bit down. If that's the case pm me I have a bunch of tips on getting past it

-Haiyore! Nyaruko-san and the sequel: Cthulhu mythos +anime parody.
-Nodame Cantabile: Piano anime basically.
-Code Geass: Akin to Death Note, rather amusing.
-Steins Gate: A must see if you're really into world destruction.
-Fate Zero:  Looks decent haven't watched it.

As for manga I am only currenlty reading Naruto once a week, but I also read Mirai Nikki and it was decent.
