Hello! Let's do this: Is there a piece stuck in your head? Is there something that appeals to your mood best, right now? Why? What is it about the piece that describes your mood?
Post examples? What do you hear in your head?

Something along those lines.

Mine is Ravel valse nobles no 4 and 5. It stands for love and hate...

In the 4th valse, the right hand descends almost chromatically, while the lift hand has a nice minor/major sound, I suppose. And each passage resolves in a jazzy, sweet, tender way if you voice it just right...
5th valse starts almost normal, but when the bass gets deeper, the piece becomes more serious with sadness...yes that main theme is pretty but it is melancholy and dark...

The chords in these valses can be voiced in so many ways! I find this fascinating. Any mood I am in, the music adjusts and something new happens!

GO!

Has to be beethovens appasionata mainly for the many different moods shooting around thought the piece, it's been playing in my head for about 2 years now. It makes me feel content and then sad and then nothing.
Kinda depressing honestly but it's my favorite piece written for solo piano. It interests me in so many ways.
Just here to lurk and cringe at my old posts now.

Assuming "rand-o" is some permutation of "random", I fear you've missed the point.

I said that in an odd way, I mean like the piece itself ends itself in such a way that it feels as if I've been left with nothing, there isn't anything else to hope for or go after.

To go temporarily off-topic, I aonce asked a group of musicians to name three pieces connected with coffee and J S Bach's so-called Coffee Cantata and the 1920s Brown / de Silva song You're the Cream in my Coffee were soon suggested but no one seemed immediately able to come up with a third that had occurred to me which is by a great musician who happens to have been one of the longest-lived of French composers - so, who can name it?

Right - now where's the coffee?...

All I can think of is The Coffee Song as sung by Frank Sinatra, though he wasn't French and he didn't write it.

Or there's Black Coffee by Sonny Burke, .... not French either though.

Indeed. Perhaps you might care to come forward in time un peu in order to find this composer...
