Minuet in D ornaments
on: August 14, 2013, 04:42:47 AM
Hello. I was wondering whether anyone can help me figure out how to ornament minuet in D like the way this mid is played.

https://www.sheetmusic2print.com/Media/Bach/Menuet-132.mid

The actual sheet music sold by the website doesn't have the fancy ornamentations that make it sound so cool.

Have a look at the score while you listen, and have a reference sheet of ornaments to hand, such as

or from wikipedia.

You should be able to work it out yourself.

I'd also suggest you try varying them, or playing a range of ornaments on different notes. See what sounds good, and come up with your own "cool" version.

(if you want to cheat a bit, there are programs that will turn midi into a basic score, so you can see the notes - BUT you won't have as much fun, won't learn as much and won't have your own cool version)
